Do you like beekeeping but feel afraid of getting stung by the bees? Aren’t you strong enough to lift 30+ kilos of live bees and honey? Aren’t you too busy to manage your own bees? Don’t you have an extractor, centrifuge or a smoker? Or aren’t you simply passionate about nature and honey but do not have enough time to work in beekeeping? If so, you can adopt one or several hives, and we can do it all for you 🙂 .

“Adopt a hive” is a movement that seeks to inspire more people to connect with the world of bees and their importance in the ecosystem/environment through the adoption of hives. People and/or companies provide financial support to buy material and supplies while we, as Melimel, take full care and management of this hive(s). The adoptive parents will constantly receive news about their hives, they can visit the apiaries and they will also receive their share of honey at the end of each harvest.

It is a profitable, educational and also a delicious initiative that we want to share with more people. For now, there are already 43 adopted hives, help us keep going!

As an adopter you will be the owner of the number of hives you decide to adopt (from 1 to as many as you want), and we will give you the necessary care so that your bees grow, are always healthy and produce honey every year. At the end of each harvest, we will divide the total amount of honey production in half. It is a very interesting and very cool investment that is friendly to the environment and socially responsible.

(which is an example of the contract that we would sign if you decide to participate in the adoption) you will be able to see the costs of adopting a hive, the expected honey harvest of the first year in kilos (which in general not that much compared to the following years as you can see in the Excel document) and from the second year onwards. It is also a very simple cash flow so you can see when you “recover” the investment based on the number of hives you adopted (in fact, this project goes beyond recovering an investment 🙂). We base the earnings forecast on 3 situations (pessimistic, realistic and optimistic), since the production of honey depends on the weather and there are not quantities of honey that we can guarantee 100%. You can change the number of hives in box F1 (all the formulas are connected) I put 1 only as an example (which corresponds to an investment of 1424 Bs).
